Managing audiovisual infrastructure at a modern university. How to reduce operating and utility costs?
Managing audiovisual infrastructure at a modern university. How to reduce operating and utility costs?

Technology is ubiquitous today. Halls, classrooms, auditoriums, offices. Everywhere there is a projector, a monitor or some other piece of AV infrastructure to support teaching or organizing meetings. How do you manage all this? How do we quickly find a lecture hall with the equipment we need? Is it possible to take a bit of the task of "running around" the halls and troubleshooting equipment problems off of the maintenance staff, so that they can perform much more important tasks? I will try to answer these questions as much as lecture time will allow.
