Digital AWSB - good practices and challenges on the example of WSB Academy

Digital transformation, as it is for many organizations, is also one of the strategic challenges for WSB Academy. In the case of the academy, the transfer of analog processes to the digital world concerns both teaching, scientific and administrative activities. During the speech, I will present examples of digitization activities of didactics and administrative processes implemented at WSB Academy in the last 2 years, showing good practices in this regard as well as challenges.

Crucial or affective? The dean's office as a stakeholder in the process of digitizing the service of the course of study

Digitization of universities is undoubtedly an important and fashionable topic - we usually boast that we are introducing a new and better ICT system, not that we have accumulated more tons of paper files. At universities, this process means not only a technological change, but also an organizational one, and this one involves the way the end users of the introduced IT solutions - one of the important groups of internal stakeholders - work. Depending on how they are involved in digitization, they become either a key stakeholder or an affective stakeholder in this endeavor, which in turn translates not only into the quality of student service, but also into implementation success (or lack thereof). We will base our presentation on several years of our own research as well as on our experience with the Deans' Forum.

Prof. Dr. Grzegorz Mazurek

The glories and shadows of digital transformation

The benefits that digital technology brings to the education sector are obvious - but are we sure? When thinking about digital transformation, do we see its holistic, multidimensional potential? On the other hand, do we see "a kind of dark side" of this digital change expressed in negative consequences for universities. It is worthwhile - thinking about the digital transformation of universities - to see in advance the consequences of immersion in this virtual space.

Electronic signature and qualified signature - available solutions and what to look for during implementation

Electronic signature and qualified signature services have developed very rapidly in Poland mainly under the influence of the pandemic, but will all services provide the functionality that users expect? Will all the services being designed speed up processes or will users be happy to return to old processes and traditional signatures? We will share our own experiences and go through the key tools available on the market for fast creation of electronic signature processes.

How to measure the quality of university teaching

Performance evaluation of a university employee is an important part of university management. Research and teaching employees have long been evaluated for their academic performance and the principles of this evaluation are based on a point system for publications. However, how to evaluate an employee's performance in the area of teaching? What evaluation criteria should be adopted, what metrics should be used, so that the evaluation provides specific benefits, improves the quality of education at the university or is useful for PKA accreditation? The paper will pose these questions and present an attempt to answer some of them.

No, you're not z* - the thing about the mirage of cyber security

The talk will look at three pessimistic future scenarios in which a selected threat materializes: a ransomware extortion attack, personal data leakage, and unauthorized access to data in connection with remote work.

Investment in AV in education from a provider's point of view

Grants, subsidies, targeted programs - an indispensable part of the operation of any educational institution. How to spend the funds even more efficiently - a quick guide from the contractor's point of view. More most often does not mean better.

AV standardization in education - it pays off for everyone

In many educational institutions, every investment whether in new or upgraded audiovisual infrastructure is a work from scratch every time. During a short lecture, we will present a vision that is something normal in Western education. Standardization of functionality and solutions - work done once and serving for years.

What can universities learn from digitization leaders?

Digitization brings enormous organizational challenges. These are compounded by the constant changes brought about by ever-new technologies and threats. The commercial sector has developed effective management methods to help navigate this complex reality. Is it worth it for universities to benefit from the knowledge and digitization experience accumulated by Poland's most innovative companies? If so, what, from whom and how should be learned. The talk will present proven mechanisms of cooperation between IT departments from different industries and sectors.

Automation of process handling at the University of Science and Technology in Microsoft Dynamics ERP System

Complex organizational structure, dispersion of projects, various forms of employment, dispersed data sources, extensive workflow processes and more - these are the management challenges that higher education institutions face on a daily basis. On the basis of implemented implementations of integrated IT systems for the education sector, we will present how to improve key processes in computerization and effective management support in higher education institutions.

The openness and flexibility of Microsoft Dynamics 365

The one4all platform based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 has full integration with Microsoft applications e.g. MS Office 365 or Power Bi - optimizing the execution of business processes. One4all offers seamless and easy access directly from the Cloud, all you need is a browser and an Internet connection. The system is fully flexible and open to the needs of universities. It has integration with Dean's Office systems, Polon, Offices and Institutions, among others. In the interest of the highest quality, Microsoft has created a certification system for both developer and consultant resources, offering standardized paths for competence development.

The components of Digital Transformation in the context of the student, university and research and teaching staff

Digital transformation appears as a nice-sounding slogan to justify organizational changes, argue spending and lend gravitas to any speech. I will make an attempt to decompose the term: digital transformation into smaller elements, understandable to everyone, elements without the mystery of vocabulary. In what follows, I will attempt a thesis that the speed of digital change is significantly different for the student, the research and teaching employee and the university itself. However, this will not be a criticism of such a state of affairs and quite the opposite. I will try to speak from the point of view of an entrepreneur and a lecturer about the reasons and justify the fact that we are not always so successful in this digital transformation.
